SCFG aims to provide support to those working in and with financial management in the Scottish Charity Sector.

We help to ensure the highest standards of practice are applied sector-wide through the provision of advice, training and information.

SCFG helps members:

• Exchange financial and accounting views, share ideas and promote good practice within the sector;
• Improve the professional standard of financial management within the sector;
• By providing an outlet for an informed view on technical matters relating to accounting and finance in the sector.

What we do

Annual Conference
Our annual conference is open to members and non-members and provides a full day programme of speakers on wide ranging topics relevant to the financial management of charities.

Seminars
Alternating between Glasgow and Edinburgh, seminars lasting around two hours take place throughout the year, and are an opportunity to get an in depth update on current legislation and good practice. Topics are wide ranging and have included SORP, IT, VAT, pensions, data protection (GDPR) and employment issues.

Network Lunches
Hosted by our member organisations, these informal meetings offer an opportunity for relaxed discussion and networking over a light lunch. Numbers are usually limited to around 12 to allow everyone to engage in discussion.

E-Newsletter
Our regular e-newsletters provide members with information on current issues and updates on forthcoming events.
